Queen’s Dance Club acknowledges that we are uninvited guests, situated on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Anishinabek Nation. It is with great appreciation and reflection that we are able to teach, play, and learn on these lands. We are cognizant of the history of colonialism and the harmful ongoing ways in which it exists within the structures seen at Queen's University and beyond. As settlers, QDC understands that it is due to colonization that we are able to enjoy these lands and opportunities we have been given. QDC acknowledges the privileges from which they have benefitted, and understands their responsibility to work to dismantle the perpetuation of colonial systems. QDC values the unity, equality, and diversity of this land, and are thankful we are able to gather and dance together on it.

We encourage you to learn more about the history of Indigenous lands in Kingston through the Queen's Encyclopedia and through the Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre
