EDI+I & QDC Values
EDII Co-Directors 2025-26: Emily Dephoure and Lauren Pare
Embodying EDI+I
The Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, and Indigeneity (EDI+I) role continues to play an important part in how QDC supports its members. This position is dedicated to promoting awareness, accessibility, and representation across all areas of the club. Our EDI+I Co-Directors work to ensure that every member feels safe, supported, and celebrated for who they are, while also encouraging ongoing dialogue about how QDC can continue to improve. Through initiatives, education, and collaboration, the EDI+I functions to help reinforce our values and create a culture where everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and express themselves. We always welcome your questions, ideas, and feedback as we continue to work together to make QDC a place where every dancer belongs.
QDC Values
At QDC, we want to maintain a safe and accessible environment for everyone to dance in. We strive to foster a joyous atmosphere where everyone has a place to express themselves freely and without judgment. In pursuit of this, we hold 5 key values nearest to us that we think help accomplish our mission.
These 5 vital values are as follows:
Inclusivity: QDC focuses on hosting an inclusive and accessible environment where all are able to learn, while being respected and appreciated.
Encouragement: QDC encourages and works to create a classroom where dancers can step outside their comfort zones in a supportive, judgment-free space.
Health: QDC understands that health looks different on everyone. We always want dancers to be as physically and mentally well as possible, and we believe that taking a dance class is one of the most fun and exciting ways to accomplish that!
Friendship: QDC fosters and facilitates the development of lifelong friendships both inside and outside of the studio. Club members are bonded by their love of dance, appreciation of challenge, and dedication to the art!
Leadership: QDC promotes leadership, and aims to see all dancers grow and inspire people in and out of the classroom using the confidence they have gained through dance.
