EDI+I & QDC Values

Our EDI+I Directors Diana Romano and Sam Seymour

Embodying EDI+I

We are happy to introduce to you our new executive role for EDI+I (Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, and Indigeneity)! The goal of this new position is to help create, encourage, and maintain an environment within QDC where all students/staff members feel equally represented, safe, and involved in club activities. At QDC, we feel that the addition of EDI+I will promote and reinforce our values, fostering a place where everyone can confidently work, play, and learn to create a positive impact on our club. Our EDI+I Co-Directors always welcome any questions, comments and concerns, and hope to continue to make QDC a wonderful place to dance and express ourselves!

QDC Values

At QDC, we want to maintain a safe and accessible environment for everyone to dance in. We strive to foster a joyous atmosphere where everyone has a place to express themselves freely and without judgment. In pursuit of this, we hold 5 key values nearest to us that we think help accomplish our mission.

These 5 vital values are as follows:

Inclusivity.jpg

Inclusivity: QDC focuses on hosting an inclusive and accessible environment where all are able to learn, while being respected and appreciated.

Encouragement.jpg

Encouragement: QDC encourages and works to create a classroom where dancers can step outside their comfort zones in a supportive, judgment-free space.

Health.jpg

Health: QDC understands that health looks different on everyone. We always want dancers to be as physically and mentally well as possible, and we believe that taking a dance class is one of the most fun and exciting ways to accomplish that!

Friendship.jpg

Friendship: QDC fosters and facilitates the development of lifelong friendships both inside and outside of the studio. Club members are bonded by their love of dance, appreciation of challenge, and dedication to the art!

Leadership.jpg

Leadership: QDC promotes leadership, and aims to see all dancers grow and inspire people in and out of the classroom using the confidence they have gained through dance.
